GUT & DIGESTIVE HEALTH
If bloating, changes in your bowel habits, digestive discomfort or food reactions keep coming back, we can look at the bigger picture and work out what is worth focusing on first.
My approach is personalised and practical — looking at your food, symptoms, lifestyle and health history, with functional testing where it may give us useful additional information.

Digestive Symptoms can be frustating.
They don´t have to be confusing.
Bloating · Digestive discomfort · Changes in bowel habits · Reflux-type symptoms · IBS-type symptoms · Food reactions
WHEN YOUR DIGESTION DOESN’T FEEL RIGHT
The answer isn’t always to cut out more foods.
A lot of people come to me having already tried changing their diet, removing foods, taking probiotics or supplements, but are still dealing with symptoms.
Digestive symptoms can be influenced by several things at the same time, so rather than focusing on one food or one symptom, we look at the wider picture.

Digestion & absorption
How well you are breaking down and tolerating your food.

Bowel habits & digestion
Looking at changes or patterns in your bowel habits alongside your food, lifestyle and wider health history

Food & eating patterns
What you eat matters, but so can meal timing, variety and whether your diet has become increasingly restricted.

The gut microbiome
Where appropriate, we may look more closely at the gut environment and digestive function.

Stress, sleep & the gut-brain connection
Digestion doesn’t work separately from the rest of your body. Stress, sleep and your nervous system can all play a part.

Your health history
Previous infections, medication, travel, hormonal changes and other health factors may also be relevant.
The goal is not to make food more complicated. It’s to understand your individual picture and decide what is genuinely worth working on.

HOW I SUPPORT YOU
We start with what is happening for you
There isn’t one gut health approach that works for everyone.

We look at your symptoms, current food, bowel habits, lifestyle and health history together.
From there, I’ll help you put practical changes in place and we’ll review how you respond.

Depending on what comes up, we may work on areas such as:
-
meal structure
-
fibre and plant variety
-
digestion
-
food tolerance
-
hydration
-
stress and sleep
-
eating patterns
-
targeted supplementation where appropriate
And if testing could genuinely give us useful additional information, we can discuss that too.

Bloating: Where do you start?
FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Not necessarily. I don’t recommend testing automatically.

We first look at your symptoms, health history, current food and anything you have already tried. If I feel testing could give us useful additional information, we can discuss the options together.
Bring them with you.
Existing blood tests, scans, gastroenterology reports or other medical results can all be useful and may mean that additional testing isn’t necessary.
Not at all. Sometimes short-term dietary changes can be useful, depending on the situation, but I don’t want you removing foods unnecessarily.

Where possible, the aim is to maintain if not increase variety and diversity and help you feel more confident around food rather than make your diet smaller and smaller.
That’s completely fine, however I´m always sorry to hear that.
We start with where you are now, what you have already tried and what information we have available. We can then decide together what makes sense to focus on first.
If you have new or severe digestive symptoms, unexplained weight loss, blood in your stool, persistent vomiting, difficulty swallowing or anything that concerns you, medical assessment should always come first.
